BETA VERDE KITCHEN

Louie & Honey’s Kitchen team in the early days producing out of the Beta Verde Kitchen — before they opened their beloved brick-&-mortar cafe in Historic West End Winston-Salem!

In operation since 2009, the Beta Verde Kitchen has a heart and success larger than its square footage! Humble in its offerings, BV Kitchen is Forsyth County’s longest running shared-use Department of Agriculture kitchen.

How It Started

Margaret and Salem (the mother-daughter founding duo of Beta Verde) grew what would eventually become an award winning jam and pickle business out of their seasonal culinary explorations using an abundance of sustainably produced, fresh fruits and vegetables. Along the way, they quickly learned that in order to bring their products to retail outlets they would need to be producing out of a certified kitchen which, at the time, did not exist in Forsyth County. Little did they know that this very humble ‘lab’ was a sought after resource in the food community that would later become an incubator and launchpad for many new food ventures in Winston-Salem.

Our Success Stories

To date, regional rockstars such as Village Juice & Kitchen Co., UpDog Kombucha, Louie & Honey’s Kitchen, Y’all Sauce Co., Bingo Bango Beverage and many more have shared and forever permeated the space.
